Avoid unless you get your own checks done BEFORE DEPOSIT!!

We found a camper that we liked. Told it would come with mot and habitation check. Site description said solid drive (with a small disclaimer).

When we ordered a copy MOT to see its history we were very worried to see a corrosion warning which had SUBSEQUENTLY 'dissappeared'. The vechile had been off road for two years. We relaxed thinking the current mot would spot iissues but to make sure we ordered and paid for an RAC inspection which looks at more than MOT findings. It's a big investment and we didn't want to buy a heap of rubbish. It turns out it is a heap if rubbish.

NOT only did the inspection point out MOT issues it also found corrosion had been painted over with sealant in the past. The vehicle was described as unstable and requiring significant work. Some of the MOT issues such as misshapen tyres make us wonder how and where it got it's MOT

We asked for our deposit back. We were refused. They did offer to transfer to anoher vehicle.

Our main issue is that It was not possible to test drive this vehicle due to how it was parked . We couldnt get a check done without an mot and we could get an MOT without a deposit!! How is that fair? we didn't even get to start the engine with one member of staff for a whole sales pitch.

Once the problems becamr apparemt getting hold of Gemma (the boss) was really difficult. First they asked us to put it in writing then they claimed they hadn't received our email complaint. Then she was never in. Then she was on holiday.

The vehicle never had its habitation check but in all seriousness I doubt these checks and MOTs are worth thr paper they are written on.

Gary the sales person was very friendly and great to deal with.

When picking up the car we have bought, the fuel filler cap was damaged, which G Cars arranged to be fixed promptly, which was great.

We were sold the car with a '5 star' (sounds good!) warranty for the first 3 months. 2 months in, the colder weather arrived and it became apparent that some of front screen heating elements were not operating to clear condensation. Upon contacting the warranty company VGS, purchased at the point of sale by G Cars and reading further in to the small print, the warranty excludes most of the car!! G Cars who sold me the 3 months '5 star' warranty are not offering to fix the non-fit for purpose heated screen. Very disappointed the screen will not be fixed having paid a reasonable amount for the car at trade price!

In summary, make sure you ask and review the warranty exclusions so not to be disappointed!!
