Great place to get your car serviced! I had bad experience with Lewis Toyota of Hays KS but upon switching G & L Tire & Automotive Inc I have not had any issues. They do a excellent job in their profession and also are very good in price. I would recommend this place for car service and tire repair.

I called to make an appointment and was quoted an exact price (parts/labor/tax) and was made to feel like the repair would be handled by someone knowledgeable and like we had discussed. After my vehicle was in, on the lift, and taken apart, I could tell when they called me to let me know it was taking longer than expected that they were NOT knowledgeable just by the comments made to me. When I went to pay the bill and get my vehicle, it was MORE than what I was quoted and I had written it down when I had called in so I know it wasn't my fault. If you need to charge more because you find more things wrong or discuss this with the customer in advance, that's one thing. But to do just the repair that was quoted and use the exact part that was quoted, but then change the price by more than $150 not only loses me as a customer, but makes me want to get the word out so others don't get ripped off. The sad thing is this was by the owner so not much I could really do in complaining to him, at least if I wanted my vehicle back. I paid my bill and just happy to get my vehicle back in one piece and will take it elsewhere next time I need repairs.

Take my Escape here for service; never any issues or problems, work is done quick and as per the quote. I take the 1* ratings on here with a grain of salt, as over the years I've seen the counter guys at G&L tell several customers that work WASN'T needed, or that they were able to source parts cheaper than originally quoted. That's pretty ethical. They could just have easily lied and said work was needed, but they don't.

Good guys. We were traveling through from Colorado to Maryland and needed an alignment on the fly. They fit us in and got us on the road in under an hour and a half. Bonus was we found cool German bistro in walking distance to grab a bite while we waited

I went in for an oil change, and it costed almost $60 total (!) after all their little unexpected fees. They charged me $1.50 to "top-off" my windshield wiper fluid even though I just filled it recently (and it costs about $2-3 for a WHOLE bottle). They also charged me $3 for "misc. shop supplies" whatever that means. The oil change itself was $54 including the filter. And last but not least, they charged me $25 dollars just to plug in their machine to check my car's systems! I went to Lewis Automotive for an oil change last time, and it costed me $44 total and that included no charge for windshield wiper fluid, to plug in their machine, etc. Lewis checks every function of your car FOR FREE. I made the mistake of going somewhere else for this oil change.

The owner (Allen) is unusually attentive to his customers needs. I have moved further away but still take my car to G&L.
