G-Mac Tyres - Larne

Had to limp in to G-Mac when a shock absorber basically broke and was sitting on top of my tyre ,lucky enough I was just heading out of Larne when it happened ,the guys were up to their neck but put the car up and looked to see the problem ,long story short I left the car and they had it a couple of days and along with the shock and a couple of bushings they did the front tyres that needed done and checked the rest of the car and pointed out a few potential MOT fails as the car was due the following week.
Basically they played a blinder since they were already swamped and I can recommend them ?

Pretty poor - had already been to the MOT centre to be told that all the car needed was a front spring and 2 front tyres. Got the front spring fixed by NI Car Repairs Glengormley - no hassle at all there and front spring sorted just a pitty he didnt do tyres - Went into G- Mac asking for 2 new tyres £110 plus VAT… petfect that will do thanks… 15mins later giy comes back saying one of the nuts is threaded and I need a new one.. ok cheers … 20 mins after that comes back and says I now need 2? Hmmmm come back to morrow and al have it sorted - leave me your number and i will call you with a cost - cheers … no call back - so I end up calling - spoke to a guy who then said… aye errmmm you now need 4 new nuts and if you dont take them your car will fail an MOT inspection I am now saying to myself… its already been for MOT all I need is 2 front tyres whats going on? How come the mechanic at Glengormley had no issues removing the front tyre when fitting the spring? Once again told to call back the next day which was wed… I call back and still not fixed… the guy said he wilk have it fixed for Thursday for you… Arse is now making buttons because my MOT rebook is for Friday… anyway end up getting it fixed guy says it was a nightmare and who ever put the nuts in the wheels didnt do it properly … so what should have been £110 plus Vat ended up £330 plus vat… My mates have said… they have seen yer reg as not being registered here and just ripped ye off… I wont be back anywhere near that place again thats for sure… Thought I was doing a good thing by supporting the local business as I only stay 5 minutes walk from the place… crazy how one Mechanic has no issues removing a wherl to fit a spring… yet another cant and wants to fit 4 new wheel nuts and take 3 days… Pretty Poor

Couldn’t be more helpful. I got off the ferry with a flat tyre on motorbike. They rung around, called on a friend to pick a tyre up, fitted it and had me on my way in two hours. Thats service. Great guys.

Shocking experience and lack of any kind of responsibility!

I phoned ahead and was told that they had my tyre in stock as I didn't want to have to drive all the way there for nothing, where my time could be spent better elsewhere doing something more productive. When I arrived the person I spoke to on the phone said he would go and search and get the tyre. About 15 minutes later I was told they didn't have the tyre and it must have been an error on the system.

I could almost forgive them for making a genuine mistake, however they didn't even offer any discount as a gesture of goodwill, considering it was their mistake. I thought that would have been reasonable.

Customer service is everything and a market differentiator in this era. I wouldn't go back here or recommend it to anyone.
